<p>This article looks at what are commemoratives stamps:</p>
<ul>
<li>Commemoratives stamps are issued to mark important events or anniversarie</li>
<li>Usually larger and more colorful than definitive stamps</li>
<li>The reasons for issuing such stamp(s) will be shown quite clearly in the design</li>
<li>Commemorative sets are often made up of between two and six stamps of different face values, although there are exceptions when just one or two values may be printed.</li>
<li>Besides printed as sheets of stamps, they are sometimes printed in blocks of sets, each surrounded by a margin, rather like a miniature sheet of stamps</li>
<li>Commemorative stamps are produced especially for philatelists</li>
